My sister and I bought some necessary supplies at the mall today because Odie has one toy left (he's already broken everything except one bone, and because our first trip out was quite tiring. See, I'm a packrat, and I should have been a girl scout if I liked their uniforms. Our bag last Sunday was a huge bag filled with tissue, wet wipes, newspaper, plastic bags, treats, food bowl, two little plastic bags containing lunch and dinner kibble, a 700ml water jug, scissors, lead, harness, collar, and hand soap. My sister, Bea, said that the bag was screaming SOCCERMOM!!!
Since we signed up for the NatGeo Doggy Day Camp, I know that another huge field trip is in order, and I want to be more sure of the things to bring. Ate, on the other hand, focused on the issue of broken toys. So we went to little old Ace Hardware to pick up a few stuff. Yeah, their pet section isn't as grand as that of True Value, but we'll get by for now.
Today, we bought a Flexibone for Php130. It has two pieces in one pack, and it aims to help clean his teeth (he hates his toothbrush!). We also got a Muffy tug toy for Php120, a poopie bag dispenser for Php110 which comes with two rolls, of 20 bags, and a Portable Pet Bowl which was on sale at Php100 for two packs.
Last Saturday, I bought Odie a travel crate in Tiendesitas. It's getting difficult to keep him still when we're in the car, because there's so much stuff to lick and bite, maybe. I got a size 3, which they said is ideal for adult Beagles. They were selling it to me for Php2500, but the happy thing about Tiende is haggling, so I they gave it to me for Php1800. I forgot the name of the stall I got it from, but I remember where it's located, and can show you where it is when I'm there :))
As of press time, I'm still saving up to get a Kong toy, and of course, little things to stuff in it should also be saved up for. If things don't work out according to plan (which is, to get one of the Kongs at the end of puppy class), I'll just order it on Amazon and have it delivered to my best friend's house. It's just $6 in the US. I want to get lots of toys and just give it one at a time to keep him busy. I also want to get a nice bed (I saw an online ad for a nice dog bed that's just Php800. And yes, I've been lusting on stuff at the PetSmart website, but I don't know if we're filling up a balikbayan box anytime soon.
For now, it's just trips to hardware stores (True Value, Ace, Handyman), Pet Express (I've only been to the one in Corinthian Hills), Tiendesitas, and whatever pet store I find.
I'm not sure if we have any readers, but if we do, I would love to get suggestions for good store-bought treats :D
