I wanted to do a roll over myself when I plotted this week's homework in Odie's chart. After all, I have to do it on top of my work, and I can't complain because I signed up for this and I just really have an issue with filling all the x's in the homework chart. It's even quite beneficial for me that there's already a maximum number of locations because I might have kept up with doing 9-10 locations for each exercise like in the Targeting homework. Apart from that, I've been experiencing a highly irregular sleeping pattern which doesn't help because now I have to keep adjusting my schedule. Thinking it's the icing on the cake, this week's weather feels all important and it's NOT HELPING! I used to shoot at around 7-8AM because it's not too early, the sun is up, but the air is cool. Summer seems to be making a grand entrance this week because it's been sweltering hot even before 7AM! I also usually shoot from 4:30-6PM while the sun is still up, but at that time this week it's been raining, so after exhausting my indoor locations, I twiddle my thumbs while Odie twiddles his paws. I have to keep revising my outdoor shooting schedule! ARGH!

In other news, I was quite pleased with how session 2 turned out. The recall drills were not so hard, and we spent a lot of time on the "place" exercise. I didn't get a bed in time for that session so teacher lent us her pretty light pink dog bed which Odie chewed on. Oops! Good thing it didn't get damaged! We had to flip it over and holy moly, its base was made of black pebble leather similar to my Kindle cover! Not sure where she got that, but I'm working triple the effort now so I can happily go shopping in Amazon and hopefully get that one, or a Kuranda bed. Odie would fit perfectly in the small size, based on my research. It's gonna run me a little over $50... Think. Think.
Odie kind of dirtied the bed since we had to invert it for the exercise. I offered to have it washed because it was so clean before we used it and it's strike two for us (Odie soiled Doc's tug toy with blood a few months ago because his tooth fell off mid-play), but Doc declined the offer. I wanted to vacuum and soak it in soap right then and there! It was hard to wrap up the session just looking at it in all its filth. I'm no Emma Pillsbury, but I hate dirt.
Speaking of wrap-ups, my little show off puppy had a blast doing last week's trick-of-the-week: the roll over. During last Saturday's session, teacher was checking on Buzz's and Boo's exercises. Odie and I stayed at the bleachers and I was enjoying my little break when Odie suddenly rolled over and landed on the floor! I know we've been reviewing it at home but I didn't know he would have so much fun doing it. Naturally, he caught everyone's attention and just went about his own business. When we were wrapping up the session, Doc was giving us homework instructions while I nodded and absorbed everything she was saying. Odie may have been quite bored that it was time for the humans to talk. I was just standing there when the humans looked in my direction. I looked at Odie and was so surprised that he was finishing another roll over! He's totally living up to this "class clown" thing. Hayayayyyy! Puppy is as crazy as his human, if not crazier!
After the family lunch, I took advantage of the drive home that day to get Odie a bed because I knew we were passing EDSA going to Katipunan. We made a stop at PetExpress in Corinthian Hills and saw beds right in front of us upon entering the door! There was a small, round bed that was a bit too small for Odie, and a big bed exactly like Buzz's and Boo's. Doc said that it's okay for the bed to be oversized so I opted for the bigger one and didn't bother to look at any other item in the store because I've been a victim of useless purchases far too many times.

Aaaaaand it's raining again. It's raining hard, in fact. I guess Odie and I are gonna be stuck with the indoor/at home homework. Again.
THIS IS SUCH A WEIRD SUMMER!
Homework is exhausting! :| This week's been dragging because of homework. But I'm happy to do exercises with Boo because I do see some improvement. :) It's just really exhausting for me to take note of all the exercises we do... Huhu. Our homework in the beginners class was also so much easier because it didn't require a lot of movement. :P
ReplyDeleteOdie's like, "I wonder what will happen if I...ROLLOVER!!!" and then he's happy to be putting smiles on our faces. :)) Haay, Odie. :))
Get another Beagle! So Odie won't feel so lonely in a big bed... Hahahaha
I know! Grabe, the weather isn't helping. I managed to do just one set of outdoor exercises today :( Sana hindi umulan this afternoon. I also didn't realize how homework during beginners class was a LOT easier and I could have done more. Lalo na puppy class homework! PHOTOS? BRING IT!
DeleteNagugulat na lang talaga ako at the very random things he does in class. Maybe he doesn't know people are looking? I mean, upon finishing he acts as if nothing happened :))
I don't think I can raise another beagle just yet. I can only imagine having Odie and a female beagle at home. Considering Odie's humping habit, THERE WILL BE PUPPIES.
